On April 12th Google announced a change to their review policy.

Don’t discourage or prohibit negative reviews or selectively solicit positive reviews from customers.

It is no longer acceptable to ‘gate’ your review invitations or filter to only customers that would most likely recommend your business as they leave a review on Google. We believe this is a positive change that will increase the integrity of public reviews across the web.
